criminals have never been considered very smart, what gets them ahead is the are willing to go the extra mile that most people wont,(ie, murder, blackmail, bribes etc) to force other people to give them what they want.
If you are willing to risk going to prison for life to get things you want, you can be quite successful (for a limited time) as well. Problem is you always have to pay the piper in the end, and the bill has come due for the Jews.
