Sort of but not really.
Focus on the principles though.
Let me try to explain: Sort of because who you are now is not working for you. So you have to improve and to become someone else... as in "growing" into who you want to become.
That's just how life is. You have to be humble enough to recognise that and intelligent enough to just not copy paste exagerated over the top behaviours that worked in the 1990s exactly because they were exagerated, over the top, but sort of new and fitting with the times then.
Not really because you still have to be you. You still have to be congruent with yourself. Otherwise you're just a poser and you'll never achieve real success. Your mask will come off and you'll fail.
So you really have to learn and overcome who you are now and become a better men. But you also need to preserve yourself and your essence.
Focus on the blog though. I think it's less... "over the top". Don't quit reading it on the first few things that make you revolt.

It's an instruction on how to attract women. What you do with that is literally of your own chosing.
I think you're looking at girls too much as if they were men/boys. Girls are different. Very different. Learn what the differences are and learn what they value and what attracts them. It is very different than what we value and feel attracted to. Then learn how limited and vapid and blameless (they just follow their feel good instincct) girls are so you stop to have oneitis and romantic delusions.
Ask me anything if you want, because I think your problem goes deeper.
I think you're just a shy guy who gives up quickly.
Perhaps you should build a schedule of sorts for you to have small (non sexual) victories with girls and then built from there.
