Why would the people in charge want any kind of pppulation control? Do they care about the environment? Is pollution really a top concern for them? Do they want a smaller pool of workers so wages are no longer a race to the bottom? So they want stronger collective bargaining? Do more resources for everyone hurt the ruling class somehow?
