Hey I just live here. Those old ones have high set acrylic crystals mind, easy enough to polish out scratches but they're deliberately designed to take the dings before the case. If you can get hold of a Lorus RG877CX9 those are sturdy as buggery. Even a fucked one off ebay is fine, just slap a new £5 movement in there and you're off.
