People unironically used to say the same about photography back in the day. Now, to be clear, most "AI art" is awfully kitsch and derivative indeed, but as a tool is perfectly fine and there are people doing interesting things with it, people with certainly a lot more artistic merit than a cartoonist whose main call to fame was working for Nickelodeon, for fuck's sake.
