During WW1 Russia lost 2.2 million, Austria lost 1.5 million, Germany lost 2 million and they all collapsed in their respective ways. The Ottomans lost 15% of their population for God's sake.
Also, Italy, France and the UK lost upwards of 1.4 million men each, all not counting the wounded
