Yes but the reason they were suppressed first and unable to take sufficient cover to better withstand the artillery. Likewise the lack of heavier elements being airdropped meant they couldn't break out and the slow Russian advance meant their was little to link up with even if they could have. My point was the doctrine was fundamentally flawed from the start, the fact that the Ruskies fucked it up badly just made it worse.
