The skill is still there though, you can always pick up the brush yourself, have fun spending 3 years learning how to draw at 30 years old. It's always your choice if you want to do it or not, it doesn't change whether or not something is good or not. If AI can objectively create better than most artist, that should say more about the state of artist and great art, than it does about AI. Aesthetics > Skill. There are people who have painted for 10,000 hours and have ruined their whole life because they don't understand or implement the concepts of aesthetics, and become skillmaxxies that rots their brains.
