Thats an easy problem to solve, just add more power plants, transmission lines and rooftop solar on private homes and businesses to ease the burden on the centralized power generators. A mix of renewables and nuclear absolutely can replace oil as an energy source, the only obstacle now is the cost of the equipment which is rapidly declining and has a lot of room to improve.
