it's 2 pieces, made with plunge electrical discharge machining and then polished on the machined bits on the inside and then the two pieces put together and lapped so that their surface finish "grain" on that edge are co-linear
the edm process used to make the inside parts are very precise though, which is why they're able to slot together with no gap
