it doesnt matter how environmentally friendly they are, that has nothing to do with its viability as an energy source. Solar panels and LFP batteries last 20+ years and are quite cheap now. Only 10% of oil is used to make things like plastic and rubber, it doesnt need to be completely removed from our society altogether. 2/3 of the energy in oil is just wasted as heat, we only need to replace a third of the energy provided by fossil fuels with something else. there are already countries with 100% renewable grids right now, it definitely can be done and will be when the cost of burning oil is too high.
