Yes. Born and raised in dry heat, warm winters, 100+ degree summers, hardly any rain.
Spent a year in the snowy mountains. Mid humidity + sub freezing temps, so very frosty air and blizzard stormy. I have not felt as at home in a place as when the cold bites at my skin, or walking through a mild snow storm and feeling the resistance. No surreal a sight as virgin snow in the morning.
I also started growing a beard after this year I spent in those elements. Take from that what you will
