A good example is Turkey.
Erdogan fucked up the economy so badly, stole so much, that the only thing keeping the country from imploding is, ironocally, a never endign cycle of daily inflation and adjustment rates. But its a race to the bottom, until everything collapses. Sure, the US is not Turkey and it has much more bone on the meat to sustain such practices, but it always leads to the same conclusion/outcome.
