I think it has more to the way people dress these days. In olden days people would always dress in long sleeves and wear wide brim hats while in the sun. Now they mostly wear t-shirts, singlets, shorts, and don't wear hats at all, or shitty baseball caps that don't protect anything. People in this country are quite retarded when it comes to UV.
