First the majority of the cavity is roughed out with only .001" of stock left. Then you RAM EDM both male and female halves. Then you surface grinding the mating parts so you can't tell them apart once joined.
The RAM EDM electrode face is machined out of copper graphite or copper tungsten and it takes multiple electrode faces to get the accuracy required. And the machining stepover for the electrode is .0006" or smaller. The surface finish shown on those parts is electroless nickel or an acid polish and the tolerance on that process is tiny but also has to be accounted for.
