Every mother exploits and abuses their child for her personal gain alone. The purpose of her having children is for her personal gain. That alone is exploitation and abuse.
Whether or not she mistreated them is a different story. Women can be absolutely perfect mothers, but at the end of the day, the purpose of having the child was to exploit them as leverage against the father.
