Cold approaching is awkward and unnatural. I've had four gfs and all of them I met through school or work and knew them fairly well before turning it sexual.
Cold approaching or even going on a date with a stranger like some kind of job interview feels unnatural to me. I don't think humans are meant to meet like that.
