If you get damaged produce you just take a photo of it and then you get your money back. Or you can take it back to the store yourself and exchange it for free. I understand though that that is time consuming.

One thing I will never understand though is self-checkout. You are literally paying the same amount of money but you aren't even benefiting from the grocery store employee doing the labor of scanning and bagging your groceries for you. It's like voluntary slavery that you pay for.

To me self-checkout would be fare if you got a 50 cent or 1 dollar discount for doing self checkout instead of going to a cashier. Otherwise it's just a scam. Doubly so when you have to get a large amount of groceries in one trip
