The “it’s not her fault” is perhaps the most difficult aspect. This will be one of those few times that when someone says “it’s not you, it’s me”, it’ll actually be true but I’ll have to get creative in saying it. Because even though it’s her inability to carry a child, and she’d be a great mother, it’s my insistence on having a biological one at the end of the day that brings us to this impasse. Some things just weren’t meant to be- in my experience, it takes more than just love to have a successful relationship.
