I know what they showed on that TV show "Vikings", but murdering shit left and right wasn't what actually happened. The Blot was actually more like a barbeque. They'd dedicate a pig or other animal to the gods, sacrifice it, then cook it and eat it. After which, there was a celebration.
By that measure, the 4th of July is a Pagan ceremony.
