We ain't gonna get hit with any asteroid that carry significant mass unless we somehow blow up the moon, there is very limited angle at which it can close the distance without being intercepted by gravity of another planet or burning in our atmosphere and there is like 20min window where the moon won't be able to throw it off.
Basically for an asteroid to fuck us up it need to be fuck off huge(like some of mars moons huge), hit the planet right in the middle while the moon is on the other side, or be the size of the moon and just fly by. There is only a handful of objects big enough for the job in our system and sadly non of them is heading in our direction.
