We had a quite good Arms industry, and it was basically a politician suicide, nothing to do with "capitalism".
it got harder and harder for our arms industry to get export licences, mostly due to retarded SPÖ politicians and public opinion shaping by leftoids.
Until the 80s we basically could produce much of what was needed for an army ourselfs, from small arms to heavy vehicles and even munitions.

Now we are the point, that there is not even a single munitions plant in austria anymore.

Meanwhile the swiss don't give a fuck and still export shitload of arms.
