dude you even have information from christian sources.
I.e. In Poland to this day on spring equinox we drown(some sites burn it) effigy of Marzanna/Ĺmiercicha (a slavic death goddess) to get rid of winter.
In 1400's some bishop was writing how pagan Poles still do it and it should be banned. And he describes how they do it with whole other pagan celebrations like Gaik(now they walk with jew on a cross doing it, but still it is pagn tradition) and Smigus Dyngus(still to this day we pour water during spring on ourselves, but it was moved to first monday after Easter, pure pagan tradition of cleaning yourself up from the past year) that happen in the same day.
Later church even tried to change this to drowning Judas, but failed.
We do not know who Marzanna really was and how her cult really looked like other than that we drown/burn her (mostly kids at schools, and yes even public ones and catholic ones) for over 600hundred years and that it predates christkikery.
