It is just another angle for "Currency Destruction". Got to suck the fiat out of the productive economy as fast as you can, to prevent the avalanche of freshly printed dollars from giving us the Zimbabwe Effect.
They will support it and fuck with it as long as it is still a valve to relieve inflation pressure.
