The Chinese are killing sparrows? Anyway I'm not saying the Chinese government has perfect judgement on everything, but they're a country that pursues their own self-interest, right? If they're investing in renewable energy, which they seem to be, then I think they've probably calculated that renewable energy is in their interests.

Clearly there are multiple benefits to renewable energy. Anyway, China has signed up to the Paris Agreement, while Trump pulled out of it I think. Maybe western countries should try to work with countries like China so that all countries are pulling their weight in trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
