Yeah I mean I dont know much about NK except what they promote about themselves or what the west says about them so I hesitate to conclude anything one way or another. I am just as suspicious of the NK great society shit as I am the west's over the top stereotypes. I am very suspicious of the sheer number of "ghost town" pictures. It is suggestive tbqh and very reminiscent of what I saw in Cuba. When I've seen videos of people going over there I get the same dejected sort of stand-offish sad feeling from the people. What I took away from going to Cuba is that "western stereotypes are not always propganda." Cuba WAS fairly close to the stereotypes- worse even.

Another thing- if you go back to the soviets, Cuba, NK, etc. they always had this thing about "great society" we have to teach these kids music, gymnastics, etc etc. Idk where it comes from it is a very soviet thing in my mind and doesnt impress me. I think of it as like treating a symptom not a disease. Perhaps this is just a fundamental western difference but I am not impressed by the social collective "great society" shit. I dont think you can plan it- it is sort of a perfect storm that has to come from the people not the other way around.
