in australia if you're really sick you end up in public hospitals anyway because treating real illness isn't profitable for private hospitals. you just have to pay private fees but you're on the same ward as the drug addicts and the scum.
source: i'm studying nursing and just did a stint in a brain injury recovery unit. one bed had a rich property developer who spends half the year in dubai and the next bed had a homeless man.
