this is directly opposite to the truth. or you want to argue that these policies don't work in nordic countries, switzerland, portugal, finland?
the key is, safer use/safe injection sites have to be wrapped into a integrated, holistic system (including supportive housing, various levels of mental health care, vocational training, outpatient, etc)
abstinence only policies + law enforcement methods lead to needless deaths. harm reduction saves lives.
>The redpill on harm reduction is that no one in charge actually believes it works
that's bullshit. there's a huge body of public health evidence showing that harm reduction/multiple recovery pathways methodologies produce much better outcomes than abstinence-only law enforcement methods
>Whatever is spent to enable these junkies are pennies compared to arresting, charging, prosecuting, and incarcerating them.
first, yes harm reduction is exponentially cheaper but it's also more effective (saves lives by preventing overdose and disease, gets people into treatment, improves outcomes measured both @ 6 months and 1-2-3 years)
"but arresting, charging and prosecuting" them simply doesn't work!
because the whole system is corrupt! organized crime is working with law enforcement and intelligence agencies and most of all, wall street private equity investors and banks who own the government!
we've thrown literally trillions of dollars at this problem. it doesn't work, except for people running addiction recovery industry businesses and the healthcare-insurance-pharma industry and law enforcement-"homeland security"-prison industry.
>They cheap out on public safety and security (basic government function) while telling you it's a good thing - and tons of retards believe it.
you are equating ubiquitous surveillance and militarized police with "public safety and security"
everything in your post is dead wrong. are you sure you're not a shill? or just a leaf who fucks dogs and lies.
