Yeesh. This is why I don't go anywhere that won't let me carry a gun. I want to be able to pull out my magnum and unleash hell on any ruffians who cross my path.
There were several critical mistakes.
1. he entered combat for some random woman
2. he entered combat in a 2v1, outnumbered
3. he entered combat with no weapon
I only would have considered intervention if there was 1 attacker, and I had the ability to sneak attack, with a weapon to eliminate the threat in a single deadly strike to the throat from behind. And then I could quickly retreat while they bleed out. So their own knife is ineffective.
