Yeah, people internalize social judgement as their own judgement and can't tell them apart. The simply logical step is to realize society doesn't give a shit about you, so they judge you positively when you're a slave to their ideals, and judge you negatively when you pursue your own benefit. So society despising you is how you know you're doing something right by yourself.
It's still true that if you NEET without skills, income, projects, you start self-loathing because you have little reason to judge yourself positively. But people should take NEETing as a blessing from god. If you have time to learn and gain skills, you already won, as long as you don't put yourself down.
