I was raised catholic. My grandma was in a choir. My grand uncle was a priest. I lived next to church. I attended catholic private school. I met pope, i was on few recollection excursions to holy places on school trips.
That still didn't prevented me from going 18 years as agnostic and live sinful life.
>No traumatic event occurred to make me lose my faith, or become "angry" at God. I simply learned too much to let the ignorant bliss that religion provides to hold on to me.
Same.
>Given absolutely no new information, could you possibly believe in Santa Claus again as you once did as a child?
Would it genuinely be possible for you to? Knowing what you know now, and given absolutely no new evidence of his existence, could you believe in Santa again?
I get it.
>Again though, and I cannot stress this enough. If you believe, I absolutely want you to continue doing so. I have no desire to convince you I am right and you are wrong. No need whatsoever to make or want you to examine your faith in the slightest. I truly hope you remain blessed and happy in religion. Whatever that may be.
I was like that too. I didn't believed, but i was logical and i knew that religion is necessary for a healthy country/society, so i approved it.
Now i realize that was PRIDE.
You will return to christ, most probably convert to catholicism in a year or so. Making this thread is proof you are seeking the truth. It will take you some time. I recognize you asking the same questions i had when i was seeking. You are not some angry atheist or something. Dont become one. Just seek the truth.
For example, ask Jesus for a sign he really exist. Try scientific evidence like shroud of turin, NDEs, tilma of guadalupe, uncorrupted saints, eucharistic miracles (right now is a good time, carlo acutis was canonized yesterday, his canonization was due to two recent miracles confirmed by modern medicine).
God left us a lot of scientific evidence for faith, yet atheists completely ignore it
