I am implying that there are no plates in his vest if he is wearing one, due to how thick it isn't, so this makes it all the more confusing, I am fully aware that a round fired from even a smoothbore barrel at that caliber, .223 was what they said it was I think, is easily capable of penetrating any sort of vest without either steel or ceramic plates in it.
