I think it's less boomers complaining about this stuff and more corporations complaining that zoomers don't go out and consume as much, and/or that zoomer consumption is mostly online, so it devalues real estate which was always considered the best investment. Same reason so many large interests fought so hard against remote work, because it devaules their ultra-valuable and profitable urban real estate.
