It's not. The fragility of the AR platform is mostly ancient boomer myths from 'nam when out of spec ammo, incorrect maintenance instructions and several cut corners resulted in a bunch of low quality weapons. All of these issues were fixed before the end of Vietnam. The only aspect where the AK is more durable is barrel life and that's only if you're shooting 7.62x39 which is lower pressure.
The AK-47 is fundamentally a late WWII era weapon and all modernization efforts make it more like the AR, which ran with basically all of the concepts of an intermediate caliber light rifle and took them to their logical conclusion while the AK remained with one foot in the rifle side of things with a much larger bullet and heaver ammunition.

i liked this video when it first came out because it also indirectly btfos people obsessed with piston ARs spouting the IT SHITS WHERE IT EATS meme. The fact that it shits where it eats is part of why the AR is actually less bothered by field contamination than the AK is. It is an issue longterm if you never clean and lube it but even the cleaning is technically optional. People have run through entire barrel lifespans, 20k plus rounds without doing an actual clean, just overlubing the bolt to get around it.
