Like some anon said earlier, it's about power. The teacher NEEDS the student's to be incompetent fools so they can feel superior. This reminds me of the college instructor that got his laptop stolen, and he needed to talk down to the whole class and punish them all to cover his own fuckup. All that when it wasn't anyone in that class for all he actually knew.
