Hurricanes aren't feared in FL. Floridians are unphased by them. This year was rhe first rime, maybe ever, that we didn't get one, and floridians were pissed. It's paid days off from work, and have literal hurricane parties with friends. Evwryone has 90-140qt fishing coolers, to keep all the ice and essentials (a cooler stocked with nothing but beer) All our houses are built to hurricane code, including windows. Increased in severity of building rules every 5-10yrs. So it's rare to get harmed, unless youre a redneck in a trailer park (what they show on the news, to show destroyed "homes")
It's the other states who can't handle it

Many floridians don't even bother evacuating (unless they have small kids), and just hunker down
Even in the Melissa /AHSG/, multiple floridianons eere complaining about not getting a hurricane this year. Joking that it must have been due to FL banning weather manipulation techniques, like cloud seeding, chemtrails, etc (TX floods happened after a kike corp did cloud seeding for 3 days, until the rain started)
Or blaming climate change for costing them a free paid vacation from work
