The number 1 thing you should leave your child is a vocation. The number 2 thing is home skills (using basic tools, what to look for, etc.). The number 3 thing is general life skills. The number 4 thing is love and memories. The number 5 thing is simple, non luxurious but productive property. The number 6 thing is wealth.
If these boomers aren’t leaving their kids the 6th thing, what are the chances they’re leaving any of the first 1-5? It’s 0. These kids of boomers and gen x are growing up with parents that kept them alive and did no more. They use their kids as accessories to make themselves feel better.
If you’re under the age of like 45 you just have to accept that your parents probably didn’t love you very much and you won’t inherit shit from them. Act accordingly. Seek out mentors who can show you things if you can. If you can’t, just accept that you’re on your own.
