I would like to add. Being passionate, competitive, and aggressive are masculine traits. Stoicism is definitely part of it too. Not saying you cannot control your emotions but if you see something that’s not right. You as a man will be passionate about it and be aggressive.

I don’t necessarily think I was brain washed. My gen X dad taught me to question everything and to do my own research. He’s a carpenter and mechanic, shown me skills and hard-work while also working himself to death to make sure I get a career and get ahead. I don’t think most parents did that especially boomers from the stuff they tell me. Like example my coworker. Her millennial son car shat itself. And instead of getting him a new car they bought a brand new SUV and gave him their old car. That seemed so bizarre to me. Instead of helping their son they saw it as an opportunity to get a brand new fancy ass SUV. I bet they will sell their house before they die and not give it their kids. It’s so foreign to me.
