The world changing sci-fi tech is here, but the system will still starve you to death if you react by saying "holy fucking space balls, terminator is real life now!" So therefore people are just helping build the AI that is being built for the sole purpose of replacing them, and no one is willing to raise the alarm or complain about it. The world is literally being forced to dig our own graves by an inanimate object that we created. Grim.
