Why would I go to a gym for $100/month and have to wait for equipment to be free and have to worry about catching shit from disgusting Indians, when I can just spend 1k up front to buy equipment that will cover 90% of what I would normally do? It's a no brainer. My buddy also has a gym in his garage that a few of our friends contributed to also in terms of equipment. He has a "open garage policy" among us where we can just drop by whenever and get a work out in for free. Sometimes you work out alone, sometimes you work out with another friend who's there too, it's pretty neat, I just prefer to workout in my own home though, especially in winter.
Going to to an actual gym used to be somewhat tolerable for me until a bunch of Indians arrived, then it became intolerable pretty quickly.
