The legal duty of businesses is to enrich their owners and shareholders through whatever means is legal and available, and NO OTHER CONCERN is important. It is, in no uncertain terms, illegal for a business to commit to providing higher quality goods if that increase in quality reduces the per unit sale profitability. This is settled legal precedent a dozen times over. Nothing can legally get better, wages cannot go higher, it all must roll up hill to the owners/investors/executives.
