#1 problem with trades is the lack of people smart enough to do it. crooked houses are built by people who suck at math and don't give a fuck. you can still to this day send crooked 2x4s back and they'll have to give you straighter ones, even if you bought #2s (which nobody does for building, although they'll sneak in #2s with #1s and hope you don't call them on it)
