#news President Trump asks The Supreme Court to reverse the E. Jean Carroll Ruling that found him liable for 'sexual abuse'
#DC
President Donald Trump has formally asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a controversial 2023 verdict holding him liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll, a decision that has long been criticized as a politically motivated miscarriage of justice.
#ChristinaAguayoNews
The petition challenges the $5 million award from Carroll's allegations of an encounter in the mid-1990s at a Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City.

The petition argues that there were errors made by the trial judge that tainted the trial - and that the case itself was an overreach of civil liability standards that took away the free speech rights of public figures.
A Trump campaign spokesperson saying
"This isn't about money—it's about truth and fairness in a system that's been stacked against President Trump from the start"
In 2023 A Manhattan jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse (but not r*pe) and defamation, awarding Carroll $5 million in damages.

Then Trump got nailed for defamation for denying he did anything wrong.
In 2024 $83.3 million was tacked on for ongoing defamation, which Trump has also appealed. (again Trump defending himself)
Critics pointing to Carroll's own words in a 2019 CNN interview with Anderson Cooper saying it's an example of her behavior and mindset.
While Promoting her book What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal, Carroll openly discussed personal r*pe fantasies, saying
"Most people think of r*pe as being sexy" to which Cooper immediately and uncomfortably sent the show to commercial break.
Critics, including Trump during his 2022 deposition in the case, have pointed to these comments as evidence of her mentality, with the president calling her a "nut job" who appeared to "love it."
