Well for one he grew up with two loving parents in a stable marriage and a nice house. My dad was out of the picture for a long time and my mom was overworked and almost never home. 14 year olds don't often make good choices when left to their own devices they need parents to keep them on track.
But that's not really the full point, that's just high school. I grew up and did well in uni and worked hard and invested my money and certain events beyond my control derailed my life to the point where it's all gone and all for nothing. I'm not giving up but it's really hard watching this guy win for his entire life being where I'm at at this current moment. Me and him couldn't be further opposites on the success meter right now
