No one was giving Eddie Gilbert all the credit, but he is one of the people who created ECW, and no their popularity didn't begin with the name change or the NWA split. I think that anon was simply pointing out that Heyman took over a business that was in pretty good shape, elevated it to a higher level, but then crashed the plane with no survivors before cashing out to make a quick buck.
