Because, and I'm just guessing based on what we're seeing, the one thing Vince always did (booking backwards, starting with the end of the programme and then figuring out how you're gonna get there) that made the WWE storylines worth watching, is the first thing the new regime threw out.
They're booking on a week by week basis without having an ending in mind.
Yes Vince changed his mind all the time, but not with the ending. Just the road towards it.
They should've just pinned it in their booking sheets, "Cena wants his heel run, he'll wind up very heavily conflicted about it and turn face in the last match to help the guy he fucked over for a year regain the title he cost that guy to turn heel".
Draw the analogy to Darth fucking Vader if you have to.
That's how it should end. Getting there? Month by month, brother, starting with the finish of each PPV and counting from the end backwards.
