“Thank you both so much!” Hermione thanks them profusely for the fifth time. “I don’t know how I could ever repay you!”

The idiotic wolf-girl gives her a salute. “Repay us by saving your family, Bea!”

As she’s about to turn away, Hermione pretends as if she just remembered something. “Oh, and one last thing! I heard there was a [Detective’s Office] at the mall!” She waves as she girlishly dashes away. “Best of luck!”

After she turns the third street corner, fully out of their line of sight, she slowly comes to a stop. It’d be idiotic to drop the illusion now, but she’d rather not waste any additional effort running if she didn’t need to.

The girl stares down at the grief seed in her hands, its silvery metal glinting in the summer sun.
