Botting has always been a big issue even in pservers that claim to have no bots. Personally ive only seen it a few times, but I quit like 10 years ago. You can even rwt, but theres always the risk of scamming. There is no gold in maplestory, but the ingame currency is mesos and the stuff you use real money in the cash shop to buy cosmetics is called nx points. Theres still chinese botters that sit in the main town (henesys) and spam BUY GOLD AT THIS SPAM SITE@@@@@@
