I think that romance, as it was portrayed in literature is absolutely dead. Women get bored quickly. I even bore women who at first were interested in me based off looks alone, but after a few dates they realize I am just a boring introvert who likes to play video games and discuss politics and literature. I could feel their interest waning by the minute when interacting with them. It was soul crushing.
