Most of the world has shown improvement in decreasing poverty. It doesn't mean much, just like GDP per capita. Doesn't change the fact that most of their population struggles with paying for food, housing, dealing with constant power and water outages. A lot of the time caused by criminals stealing metals like copper wire to sell them.

Yeah and that's the case with most of the world. Crime has dropped worldwide. Though white collar crime has seen a significant increase in South Africa since 1990's.
